Aldi forced to remove chocolate product from shelves due to allergy risk


Aldi has been forced to withdraw one of its chocolate products from sale due to the potential risk it poses to customers with allergies.

The Moser Roth: The Milk, White and Dark Chocolate Collection selection box contain eggs that are not mentioned on the label.

The problem is said to affect all lots of the product.

If a person with an egg allergy ate a product containing egg, the protein could pose a health risk and lead to rashes, hives, nasal congestion, vomiting, or other digestive issues in the individual.

A statement on Aldi’s website reads: “If you have purchased the above product and have an egg allergy or intolerance, do not eat it.

“Instead, return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.”

The Food Standards Agency has issued an alert to customers when informed of the potential risk posed by the product.

Aldi apologized and issued a recall notice for the product.

The supermarket chain advised all affected customers to contact the Customer Service Representatives.

If you still have the product at home, you can return it for a full refund at any Aldi store near you.
