FAQ

What is public, private and secret status of an album?

Private album is seen only to you, public album is available via its URL and is listed on your artist page, secret album is available via its URL but is not listed on your artist page.

How do I embed an album on my website?

At the moment it is possible through iframe. Use the codes below by inserting the number of your album instead of album=1
Without booklet:
<iframe height="294" width="528" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="http://www.disc-shelf.com/?album=1&amp;minimize=1"></iframe>
With booklet:
<iframe height="496" width="528" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="http://www.disc-shelf.com/?album=1&amp;minimize=2"></iframe>

I've uploaded a new file to my album, but the playlist remains same as before.

That happens from time to time. Try to clean out the cache of your browser. If it doesn't help, just stay put, playlist will get updated within an hour.

Will you add the ability to leave feedback to the artists?

Nope. There are several important reasons for that.
First of all, we don't like the idea of one-centered web. When an artist releases and gets feedback all on a single resource, he is literally tied up to that site for most of his musical activity. Instead we encourage artists to leave links to their personal sites. That way each artist will have another good reason to work on his unique webspace.
Second reason for not allowing interactive feedback is that it will make us bloat the site with lots and lots of additional features: we will automatically need to implement some captcha or whatever means to screen out spam and since that rarely helps artists will ask for a feature that only registered listeners can comment and see where it leads us - to a complex bloated system.
But most importantly, it will contradict the whole idea behind Disc Shelf, which is a service, not a community. It might seem a weird idea at first, but even this short time we are around it showed to be a rewarding concept.
